The rooms were spacious, clean, and had ensuite bathrooms. The hostel offered a choice of continental or cooked breakfast. Free wifi was available downstairs. The staff were friendly and helpful, even staying up late to accommodate our late arrival. The location was great, in a nice neighborhood surrounded by parkland.
Felt like in a fairy, no complaints whatsoever.

The room was clean and functional, with a private bathroom that exceeded our expectations. The highlight was the view over the city, which was simply amazing. The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area, providing a serene and peaceful atmosphere. We also appreciated the well-maintained kitchen facilities, which had all the utensils we needed. we felt incredibly comfortable during our stay here.
We found the location of this hotel to be a bit far from the city center, taking around 30 minutes to walk. However, if you don't mind a little bit of walking, this shouldn't be a major issue.

We stayed in a lovely hotel in a quiet residential area with a superb view over the town. The location was at the top of a hill which offered a good view of old grand town homes and the city below. The room was equipped with heating and carpeted floors, and shared facilities including a kitchen, leisure/tv room, and laundry service were also available. The staff was friendly and helpful and they offered a dining option for packed lunches.
We highly recommend this place for everyone.

I had a fantastic stay at the youth hostel in Glasgow. The location was amazing, right next to Kelvingrove Park with beautiful views from my room. The hostel staff were friendly and always ready to help with suggestions and arrangements. The meals in the dining hall were delicious and reasonably priced. The hostel was clean and comfortable with amenities like a spacious lounge and TV room. I enjoyed exploring the nearby attractions like the Glasgow Art Galleries and Botanical Gardens, all within easy walking distance. I highly recommend this hostel for its great location, value, and welcoming atmosphere.

The common areas were fine and spacious, the interior design of the stairs was magnificent, en suite bathrooms have their pluses and minuses - an older lady (50+) living in my room turned the lights off at 8.30 every day and as I came back from sightseeing much later I never get the chance to refresh and take a shower. Plus people waking up really early (as early as 6 o'clock) started taking showers early which made it impossible to sleep in. Bedrooms were spacious. There was lots of room for luggage. Rooms were quiet and there was not much noise outside the window.
The range of age of people in the rooms were really odd - I mean how can you put older ladies (over 45) with 20 something years olds twhen you know exactly that younger people will come back later and older will want to go to sleep earlier and then harass younger people and tell them off if they came later - and by the way I think it is against the youth hostel rules to turn off the lights at 8.30 - even though I always came back before 10 I did not have any chance to get changed and refreshed before I went to sleep and was on a few occassions told off by an older lady leaving in the same bedroom - when probably she shouldn't be allowed to be accommodated in a youth hostel when she cannot stand sharing a room! There are no external bathrooms nor showers. It makes it impossible if you wanna take a shower later at night or really early in the morninig - before you go to the airport. Lockers are not safe - you have to have your own padlock and if you don't - others can steal your things. Shower rooms had no doors - anyone could just bump into you if you were there. No free maps provided and no guided tours - made it really difficult to move around. No evening activities provided as well - no pub crawls nor any other suggestions. No communal socialising. Location was just dreadful - it was really far from the nearest metro station and no buses in the close vicinity as well. It takes around 40 minutes to get to the city centre and at night you have to go past a really dangerous and darkened park - I heard lots of people got mugged there. No shops in the closest area as well - you had to walk for at least 10 minutes to get a bottle of water (not to mention that at the reception they sell all different types of alcohol beverages - but no water! And the vending machines eat your money and are always out of stock). Paying for Internet is just a rip-off. Never had I meet anything like that in any other hostel or hotel that I've been to.

This hotel is located in the most beautiful historical residential area of the city, offering a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The rooms on the second and top floors provide an amazing view over the River Clyde, with large windows that overlook the picturesque Kelvingrove Park. The staff are very friendly and provide excellent service, ensuring that all basic amenities are available. Breakfast is included in the stay, adding even more value to the experience.
All was great, nothing to improve!

I was unfamiliar with the Glasgow Youth Hostel when I first originally made the booking. I felt like I took a chance with it; it was important to me that we were in a safe neighborhood, it was clean, etc. We were so happy with how safe the hostel was located, the friendliness and the customer satisfaction that were evinced from staff, as well as the fact that they were able to give us a 5 A.M. wake up call (well, not a call; they came to our room and knocked). I will absolutely stay there again while in Glasgow. Also, the hostel itself is an old, beautiful home; I greatly liked the super high ceilings, massive wooden doors and staircase, and the quirkiness from age. It's a 5 minute (or maybe 10) from the museum. The Glasgow Youth Hostel was wonderful. You'll like it too. They even have food and beverages available for a modest fee- beautiful!

I'm a vegetarian - so I didn't like it when there was no substitute for bacon and sausage in my cooked breakfast - instead I was offered twice as much of the other things (which I did not want). Good veggie sausages etc (even bacon and ham - look at the quorn range of products - they are excellent). are available at all major supermarkets.
